Angel Food Ministries to begin in 2008

The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ … “He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:40, 45-46.

Angel Food Ministries

Have you ever thought how you could help feed the hungry in our community? Jesus asks us to feed the hungry as stated in “Feed my lambs”, John 21:15. Church of the Apostles, headed by the Daughters of the King, will help feed Jesus’ Lambs in 2008 by participating in a nationwide program – Angel Food Ministries. This ministry provides groceries for a set price ($25) for individuals/families, experiencing financial difficulties or who just need a little help feeding their families. This monthly bundle of food for 4 includes meat, fruit, vegetables, and dry goods.

HELP NEEDED: Taking orders, transportation to pick up orders, assemble food packages, distributing to people picking up orders, and more!!

Apostles will work together for this ministry one Saturday a month. Please pray and see if God leads you to feed his lambs with us! Watch for details in Sunday bulletins or ask any member of the Daughters of the King. If you can help, please sign up with Patti McColgin, 972-910-8805.

Please remember Christian Community Center Food Pantry. Our shift to work the Pantry is the first Thursday of each month, 6 – 8 p.m. Let me know if you’re interested in this ministry. Items always in short supply are:

Personal hygiene products (soap, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc)
Bathroom tissue
Paper towels
Laundry soap, bleach
Rice or noodle mixes
Boxed meals (hamburger helper, etc.)
Canned meat (chicken, tuna, salmon, etc)

If you can help, please bring Food Pantry items to the church (we’ll see that they are delivered) or drop off your donations at the center - 200 S. Mill Street, Lewisville.
