Apostles Day School continues to accept new students for the 2007-2008 school year. A list of classes and their monthly fees include: a 5-day pre-kindergarten class at $480, a 4-day class at $435, a 3-day class at $380, and a 2-day class at $265. There also is a supply fee twice a year, September and January. For the first time, extended care for working parents will be offered each day until 6 p.m. at additional cost.

For new and returning students, the enrollment fee is $100 until after the International Dinner and then it will go up to $200. Encourage your friends to enroll early.

Currently, our enrollment is at 45 students. Our largest class is the four-day and the two- day class has reached its maximum. The three-day class has one opening.

On Wednesday after school, Miss Jennie Hyland, a Coppell High School graduate, comes to the Youth Room and leads a class in dance. She is highly trained and is an enthusiastic teacher. Dance is encouraged for all children because it helps with agility and gracefulness, especially in sports. Cost for the month is $45.

Our own Apostle’s member, Miss Cathy Vanover, is our Spanish teacher and she has been using her talents in photography to bring the language to life by taking pictures of the children in native costumes, holding their favorite animals. Miss Cathy comes in twice during the week to have time in each classroom.

For the week of April 23 to 26, the school is participating in National Turn Off Your T.V. Week. The children will receivestickers, pencils and bookmarkers encouraging them to spend quality time reading instead of watching television. Now, of course, you can add playing video games, watching DVDs, and playing computer games. The importance of this week is to practice reading as a family and to show students that reading is an activity you can do anywhere and at any time. Why not make it a family event?
