Parish Sharing For Faith Alive Weekends

As I write this article for the next newsletter I find myself searching for a way to ask for your financial support for the Faith Alive Organization. We are a non-profit organization and rely solely on support from our Directors and/or the public. The team members pay for their own travel and personal expenses when attending Faith Alive Weekends. We feel God using us as His vessels to reach deep in the hearts of the church parishioners as well as any visitors they may have. Thank you in advance if you feel led to support this ministry. You may send a check to:

I would like to share some of the responses from our Faith Alive weekends from the different churches we visit. Good Shepherd, Kingwood, TX …. “The Weekend helped our congregation to become more aware of God’s actions in their own lives. As a result of the Weekend, we are seeing more participation in Adult Bible Study—two new classes and full! The Weekend was life-changing for some.” The Rev. Dennis Fotinos, Rector.

St. Paul’s Church, Wellsboro, PA….“Widely noted as an opportunity of rekindling our sense of love, devotion and dedication to our Lord, the effects of our Faith Alive Weekend are still unfolding in the life of our parish. It proved a valuable experience for our parish, a powerful tool for reawakening the love of God in Jesus Christ in our midst. ‘A little leaven leavens the whole loaf,’ and such has been the case with our Faith Alive Weekend! Even those who were not able (or in some cases who chose not) to participate have been touched by the sense of rekindled Spirit. A highlight from my perspective was the attitude of great joy and healing that were evident at the Sunday service. Over the past few weeks since the Weekend, I have noticed greater enthusiasm, a sense of joy, and greater attendance, not only for Sunday worship, but also at Adult Education events held. The Rev. Gregory Paul Hinton, Rector

It is responses such as these that make our trips wherever we are called to minister phenomenal. In Philippians 2:4 God commands, “Don’t think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too.” Rick Warren states, World-class Christians know they were saved to serve and made for a mission. They are eager to receive a personal assignment and excited about the privilege of being used by God. World-class Christians are the only fully alive people on the planet. Their joy, confidence, and enthusiasm are contagious because they know they’re making a difference.

I know without a shadow of a doubt that God has a mission of some sort for every believer…have you prayed for Him to reveal your mission? If not I encourage you to do so and then pursue the direction He is leading you. I am reminded of a story sent via email to me sometime back: a man died, went to heaven and Jesus escorted him to his room. There on a shelf in the closet were several wrapped boxes. The man asked Jesus what they were and Jesus replied, “Why they are the gifts you requested but were never opened.” Don’t let your gift(s) from Jesus be unopened; they are obviously (in His eyes) worth sharing!

Love In Christ,

Julia Faye James
