Vestry members energized after retreat

I am happy to announce that Heidi Castle has agreed to take over as Vestry Clerk for Apostles for the next several months. Please take a minute to congratulate her and welcome her aboard. Heidi’s husband, Mike, has agreed to be the Treasurer, so the Castle family will be working very hard for Apostles. Please pray for them in their new and exciting endeavors.

You may not know this, but every spring after the new Vestry is elected, the members spend a weekend together on retreat. For the past two years, the retreat has been at the Bishop Mason Retreat Center in Flower Mound. From what I’ve heard, they had another amazing time in March! I enjoyed this time with other members of the Vestry because it gave me time to listen, to pray, and to be in fellowship with other people committed to serving God and Apostles. The Vestry members that I saw this weekend looked energized and ready to take on the tasks they have been asked to do. I know that after coming back, I felt a sense of peace in knowing that I was moving on the track that I needed to be on in order to accomplish the work that I had been given to do. I enjoyed being on the Vestry, especially when we were all working together to accomplish the goals we set for Apostles. There was a great sense of brotherhood when we were all pulling the sled together, so to speak.

I fully support the Vestry and their plans for Apostles. The Vestry is comprised of men and women who are logical, prayerful, thoughtful, discerning, and who care about our church family. They have a lot of work to do, not only in their personal lives, but also in the life of the church. It is a balancing act, but they are ready and able to serve, and they do so with open and generous hearts. I am grateful for their leadership and for their friendship. I am also thankful that I was able to be a part of such an amazing group for the past three years. Please join me in praying for them for strength and courage in all their undertakings.
